ADCCG organizes a seminar on executives succession planning as a strategic imperative for public and family owned companies

Abu Dhabi Center for Corporate Governance (ADCCG), an affiliate to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has organized a seminar on Executives Succession Planning: A Strategic Imperative for Public and Family Owned Companies at the Chamber’s Tower in Abu Dhabi.
Representatives of more than 50 companies operating in Abu Dhabi and the country attended the seminar which comes within a series of seminars and awareness programs provided by the center to the business community in Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized on the importance of executives succession planning in public and family owned companies, considering such planning represents a necessary demand to ensure the continuity of the companies and their success.
Dr. Yacoub Shaer, HR and Corporate Development Advisor, said during the seminar that executives succession planning is a strategic necessity, especially in public and family owned companies because such companies depend on the existing managerial competencies to ensure the continuity of the business and the successful execution of plans and strategy and to realize sustainability of the predicted outcomes of the projects of these companies.
Dr. Yacoub also spoke of the mechanism of choosing the next generation of executive directors and the best practice of preparing executive succession planning as well as viewing the special case of family owned companies. He noted that executive succession planning should be implemented within the core of the businesses of companies to guarantee the achievements of their objectives and to reach their goals more efficiently.
